Low Amperage Hardfacing Electrode for Abrasion and Impact – General Purpose Hardfacing Electrode
Astro 950 hardfacing electrode is an Iron powder coated electrode, depositing a chrome/carbon/manganese matrix of approximately 58 R.C. hardness.
Astro 950 is designed to be a cost effective hardfacing electrode for use with all types of welding machines.
Electrode for deposit of a hard alloy, especially recommended for small industry because of its low striking voltage and universal use in the rebuilding field.
- Operates on low voltage AC/DC Machines
- Withstands moderate impact
- Good abrasion resistance
- Smooth arc transfer
- Fast deposition rate
- Minimal spatter
- Low Amps
Rebuilding of parts subject to shocks, abrasions, working in sand, earth and stones or hot working parts, such as:
- Scarifier teeth
- Conveyor blades
- Ripper teeth
- Crushed jaws and cones
- Dredge buckets
- Farm machinery
- Hardness on SAE 1020 steel: 58 R.C.
- Raw deposit: 580-680 HB
- At 800C: 275 HB
