Description
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:
Ideal for repairing machine parts by butt welding. Also band-saws, carbide tools to shanks, galvanised iron, extensions to drills and tools, chain links and steel tubing.
FEATURES:
- Suitable for all ferrous and non-ferrous metals (except white metals)
- 210 FC gives much higher strengths than ordinary bronze rods
- Can be used as a substitute for more costly silver solders
- Tensile strength up to 3 times stronger than silver solders
- Completed jobs require little or no finishing
- High density deposits without porosity
- Cleaning base metal not necessary
- Very high capillary action
QUALITIES:
- Working Temp: 650 C to 950 C (1200 F to 1750 F)
- Tensile strength: Up to 80,000 P.S.I. (550 Mpa)
- Hardness: 100 Brinell as welded
WELDING PROCEDURES:
When using this alloy, use a neutral flame with both close fitting and poor fitting joints.
Close fitting joints: Brush a little extra flux on the base metal and preheat extensively. Melt off a drop of 210 FC, and the preheat will flow the alloy through the joint. For long lap joints, a little extra heat may be required.
Poor fitting joints: The area should be beveled by grinding or filing. Using a brazing technique, fill the area by depositing drop after drop of 210 FC, until the area is filled.
