Description
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:
Primarily used to restore galvanised areas of sheet steel, angle iron, and other areas that have been welded or cut with an oxyacetylene torch. It can also be used to protect structures that are too large or too costly to disassemble and dip in galvanising tanks.
QUALITIES:
- Excellent corrosion resistance
- Requires no special equipment
- Melts at 315 C (600 F)
- Easy to apply
- Non-fuming
- Not brittle
WELDING PROCEDURES:
Chip all slag from welds and wire brush loose scale from areas to be coated.
No flux is required.
While the metal is still hot, run Galvbar over the hot surface.
If the metal has cooled below 300 C, additional heat may be applied with a torch.
Spread the alloy over the surface with a brush or paddle.
Do not heat the alloy directly with a torch.
